Grand Parents Baird

I never knew or had contact with the Baird grand parents I do think from the photos that granddad looks severe. But from the stories I feel he must have been kind and understanding. I know they lived in  Helensburgh Scotland  and granddad was a Presbyterian minister. It seems as if John could do anything he wanted around the home. I remember I had many inventions when I was young all to make life easier for me. I had light switchers to turn lights on and off from my bed. When my parents were out I would pull the telephone and gramophone to pieces and rebuild it. At school we were building two valve radios, and one day I said to the teacher " I have just noticed that the speaker can mimic any sound from your voice to music." We were thinking of having a button for each sound then we moved north to Otley and the Idea was forgotten as the need to survive was most important. Years later the synthesizer came out. We never thought of connecting the speaker to a key board!
